A+ Before and After School Program
The A+ program began in 1990. A+ is a year round before and after school program and is licensed by the State of California. (license number is 313-607-930). During the school year, we are open from 7:00 a.m until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. During the summer months, A+ is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

The day your children turn 4 years, 9 months, they are eligible to come to A+. We are licensed to take children up through 17 years old. Activities include: Bible stories, learning activities, tutoring, homework help, free choice, playground time, songs, and snack time.

Our goal is to send your children home with their homework completed and checked for accuracy. Transportation is provided to Tahoe Lake School in the mornings before school. Transportation is provided for the following schools after school: Tahoe Lake School, Forest Charter School Creekside Cooperative, and North Tahoe Middle School.

A+ Preschool
The A+ Preschool program began in January of 2004. This program is for children who are 3-5 years old. We are licensed by the State of California (license number is: 313-609-613). Children must be toilet trained to attend. A+ Preschool is open during the school year from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Activities include: learning centers, group time, music, recreation, art, learning activities, Bible stories, snack, and free choice time. Our goal is to prepare your child for kindergarten. Full day and half day sessions are available. Transportation is provided from Tahoe Community Nursery School and Tahoe State Preschool.

Big A Club
The Big A Club meets at the church Tuesdays-Fridays during the summer months from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The Big A Club is for children 3 years old through 6th grade. Children must be toilet trained to attend the Big A Club.

Activities include: field trips, crafts, music, Bible stories, snack, recreation, and learning activities. Each child will need to bring a sack lunch. At the end of the summer the children put on a musical.

Summer School Age A+

During the summer, A+ provides before and after care for the Big A Club. Children 4 years, 9 months through 6th grade are welcome to attend.

Parents’ Night Out
Parents’ Night out is held at the church weekly on Friday nights in June and July. It is also held the first Friday night of the month the rest of the year. PNO begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. Note: The August Parents’ Night Out is over at 9:00 p.m. Children ages birth-12 are welcome.

PNO is a child care program designed to allow parents to have a night out without the kids. Activities include: playground time, songs, Bible story, craft, snack, and a G rated movie. Cost for PNO is $10 per child for the evening with a maximum of $20 per family. My Morning Out
My Morning Out is held on Tuesday mornings during the school year from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the church. MMO is for children birth through 5 years old.

Children have free play time during the morning. A snack is served. No pre-registration is required. Note: There is no My Morning Out during ski/skate week, spring break, or when school is cancelled or on a delayed start due to snow.

The spring My Morning Out session begins on January 8, 2008. There will be no MMO on Tuesday, February 19 or Tuesday April 15.

Youth

Youth meetings are held for middle school and high school students on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Special activities are also held for both youth groups.

Sunday School

Sunday School is held for children during the 9:00 a.m. worship service. Classes are held for children four years old through the 5th grade.

6th graders and above are asked to attend our worship services.

Nursery

Music Ministry
At the present time, we are singing a blend of hymns and praise songs each Sunday. If you would like to sing a special song or play a musical instrument at a worship service please contact Debbie Wohler at 530.583.2925 or debbiewohler@sbcglobal.net.

Women’s Ministry
Our women’s group meets several times a year for fellowship. We have a Christmas gift exchange, decorate the church Christmas tree, meet to hear guest speakers, and watch inspirational DVD’s.

Ski Ministry
You are invited to an interdenominational worship experience on the mountain sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Tahoe City. Our ski chaplains are volunteers from a variety of churches and denominations. Our purpose is to provide a Christian worship experience in a beautiful setting. Our hope is that you will experience the glory and majesty of God in the worship service.

Church services are held every Sunday at each of the ski areas below. Services begin each season the Sunday before Christmas and continue through Easter. At each location, you will see a cross in the snow. This is where the services are held. Each service begins at 2:00 p.m. and lasts 15-20 minutes.

Hunger Ministry
The First Baptist Church of Tahoe City cooperates with the Tahoe Truckee Ministerial Association to help feed the hungry in the area. Vouchers for local grocery stores and gas stations are available through participating churches. Wrap for Warmth
Each year at Christmas, the churches in the community gather up their extra coats and give them to the needy in the area. Last year 500 coats were given away in 15 minutes. Please contact Pastor Chip Larson at Christ the King Lutheran church at 530.583.1222 for more information.

Weddings
The church is available for weddings. The auditorium has a lake view and comfortably seats 120. The church has an outdoor worship area that is available for use in the summer season. Pastor Dan is available to perform weddings at ski areas, beaches, restuarants, and other locations.
